Owl found on North Sea oil platform brought home to safety

AN OWL that crash landed on a North Sea oil and gas platform has been airlifted to safety. The exhausted short eared owl was a found by workers on a platform on Wednesday. He was later flown by helicopter to Aberdeen when crew were returning on shore. Read more at Energy Voice

Firefighters rescue runaway parrot from North-east woods

FIREFIGHTERS have rescued a parrot from woods. The bird was rescued from Dunnottar Woods, near Stonehaven, shortly before 3pm today. A height vehicle from Aberdeen was sent to the incident. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “The parrot was stuck up in some trees but it has now been reunited with its owner.”
