Elderly woman dies after being hit by vehicle


An elderly woman has died after being hit by a vehicle near Perth. The incident happened on the A9 between Inveralmond and Broxden at about 2.25am on Sunday. Emergency services responded, but the 83-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Thoughts are with the family at this time.”


Man who died in one-vehicle crash named by police


A man who died in a one-vehicle collision in Perth and Kinross has been named. Christian Wishart of Crieff was in a crash on the Tullibardine to Muthill Road at 3.45pm on Tuesday. The 44-year-old suffered fatal injuries and police are urging witnesses to come forward to assist their inquiries.


Missing 14-year-old girl found safe and well


Police Scotland have confirmed a missing 14-year-old girl reported missing in the Aberdeen area has been found safe and well. Hallie Russell, who lives in Perth but was visiting Aberdeen, had last seen at Union Square at around 8.20pm yesterday. However, officers confirmed the teenager has been found safe and well this evening.


Body found in River Tay


A body has been found in a Scottish river. Police confirmed the body was found in the River Tay, near Friarton Bridge, Perth this morning. The body has not yet been identified and police have not yet released whether it was a male or female.
