Electricity pylon fire sparks emergency call


Emergency services have been called to an electricity pylon on fire near a North-east town. The incident occurred at around 12.15pm, right on the coast near Crawton Bay, south of Stonehaven. A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “Two appliances are on the scene, one is standing by, waiting for hydro to come.”


Police called to one-vehicle crash on North-east road


Police have been called to a one-vehicle crash on a North-east road. The smash happened shortly before 7.30am on the A96 Aberdeen to Inverurie road at the roundabout near Port Elphinstone. A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We got a report of a one-vehicle road traffic accident. “Apparently there are no injuries.” More to follow.


Car skids into ditch on North-east road


A car has skidded off a North-east road and into a ditch. The incident occurred at 8.05am on the A947, close to the Swailend junction, south of Newmachar. Snowy conditions have been causing problems across the North-east this morning, with drivers warned to take extra care. Police officers were called to the crash this morning.
