Emergency services called out to help surfer at north-east beach


A coastguard helicopter and city lifeboat crew have been called out to help a surfer in difficulty at a north-east beach. The emergency services were called to Balmedie beach this afternoon. A Coastguard spokeswoman said: “Aberdeen lifeboat and the Coastguard helicopter were called out to help a person in difficulty on a surfboard.”

Police called to three-vehicle crash on A96


Police officers have been called to a three-vehicle crash near a north-east supermarket. The collision happened on the A96 at Huntly, near the turn off to Tesco at 8.20am. A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We had a three-vehicle crash reported to us. “There doesn’t seem to be any serious injuries.”
