Boris Johnson’s Government has been accused of a “petty” approach after refusing to grant full diplomatic status to the European Union’s ambassador to the UK.
Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng confirmed the Government is looking at scrapping some European Union labour laws, but insisted there would be no “whittling down” of standards.
Problems exporting fish to continental Europe as a result of Brexit are a sign that “decisions have consequences”, Brussels said.
