What the papers say Arsenal are a step closer to permanently signing Dani Ceballos, the Daily Mirror reports. The 23-year-old has been put on a list of surplus players at Real Madrid, where he is due to return in the coming months. Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane is open to the Spain midfielder being loaned to the north Londoners again, but the Daily Star reports LaLiga clubs Valencia and Real Betis are also interested in Ceballos.

What the papers say West Ham are set to make a surprise bid for Denmark’s Martin Braithwaite, even though the striker only joined Barcelona in February. The Daily Mail reports the Hammers want the former Middlesbrough and Leganes striker to add firepower to their attack as they face Premier League relegation. The 28-year-old joined the Catalan giants for £15 million, and after appearing just three times without scoring a goal the club are willing to let him go for a similar amount.

The Holland international has not impressed since signing with the Italian giants last summer for £67.5million from Ajax. The Daily Star reports the centre-back, 20, has started just 15 Serie A matches amid knee and shoulder injuries, making him a prospect for United as they look to offload Pogba to his desired destination of Turin and recruit some young talent.

What the papers say Jack Grealish‘s recent off-field trouble may turn out to be a positive for James Maddison, according to the Daily Star. The paper says Manchester United had been prepared to pay up to  £70million for Aston Villa captain Grealish, 24, but after his recent indiscretion the club may attempt to sign 23-year-old England midfielder Maddison from Leicester instead.
