Three new sculptures will be erected in Elgin by the end of the year in a project funded by the Castle to Cathedral to Cashmere to help spark the imagination of those who live, work and visit this area. 760 people responded to the consultation to select sculptures which will conjure up scenes from the past, tell unseen stories and bring the heritage of Elgin to life.

Fund set to pay for grass cutting


The grass will finally be cut in three prominent parts of a north-east town following a local authority’s controversial decision to strip back the service in public places.

Five new firefighters have been recruited in the north-east.

Fire crews called to grass blaze in Aberdeen


Fire fighters have been called to a grass fire in Aberdeen. One fire crew has be dispatched to the fire on Springhill Road., but state of the blaze is not yet known. Scottish Fire and Rescue have now dealt with the fire, which was described as “not serious”.
