A north-east passenger who forced the cancellation of a London-bound train after becoming abusive towards a ticket collector, calling her a “jobsworth b****”, has been ordered to pay his victim £1,000 compensation.
Three people appeared in court today accused of arranging to meet an Aberdeen oil worker at a children's playpark before murdering him by battering and stabbing him, transporting him to a nature reserve and setting him on fire.
A man has been charged in connection with an alleged attempted robbery. The incident happened at a bookmakers on Clerk Street in Brechin last Friday. Police have confirmed a 39-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court today.
Drugs with a street value of £125,000 have been seized on the A90. Diamorphine and cannabis resin worth around £125,000 was recovered after a car was stopped near Brechin on Friday. Two men, aged 35 and 52, are expected to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court today over the haul.
