A tree has smashed into another north-east car as strong winds battered the north-east.
Engineers and police have been called to deal with two fallen trees on a north-east road caused by high winds.
A section of the A96 was shut after a fallen tree blocked the road. The incident happened near Old Rayne. Police were advising motorists there was a diversion along the B992 and B9002 through Insch. A north-east road was blocked in both directions today by a fallen tree. The B9002 between Insch and Kennethmont was closed for over an hour as road workers from Aberdeenshire Council attempted to clear the tree. However, the road is now open. A police spokeswoman said: “The road was reopened at 4.50pm.”
