Offshore worker airlifted to hospital from North Sea rig

Emergency sparked after boat gets into difficulty on North-east coast

Emergency crews were called tonight to help a boat which got into difficulty on the North-east coast. Buckie lifeboat was launched at 5.45pm to help the trawler which had a fouled prop that was caught in netting. It happened between Buckie and Lossiemouth. A coastguard spokesman said: “Nobody was in any immediate danger.”

Teenagers rescued after playing at Aberdeen beach

Two teenagers were rescued today after becoming stranded on Aberdeen beach. The alarm was raised at 5.50pm after the two males were caught by the tide while playing on rocks. A five person coastguard team launched the in-shore lifeboat to rescue the pair. They sustained no injuries as a result of the incident.

Coastguard teams called to injured woman at North-east beauty spot

A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after suffering a leg injury at a North-east nature reserve today. Two coastguard teams were called to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service reaching the woman, who sustained an injury on dunes at Forvie Sands, Newburgh, at around 4.45pm. An Aberdeen Coastguard spokesman said: “She has suffered a minor leg injury.”
