Firefighters battle blaze at derelict building in north-east


A derelict building has been set alight near a north-east town. Fire crews have been called to the scene of the blaze, outside the village of Lhanbryden, near Elgin on the A96. Two appliances were dispatched to the scene, after a call came in at 3.59pm, and are still in attendance.


Police called to two-vehicle crash on north-east road


Emergency services have been called to a two-vehicle crash on an Aberdeenshire road. Police were called to the scene on the A96 beside Chapel of Garioch at 4.25pm. There were no injuries. A police spokesman said: “We were called 4.26pm. It involved two vehicles, the road isn’t blocked and the traffic is flowing steadily.”


Lane blocked on north-east road


A lane of a north-east road was blocked after a tractor trailer tipped over. The incident occurred on the A96 Inverurie to Aberdeen road, at around 12.35pm this afternoon. One lane was blocked after the trailer tipped over. A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed the incident, and said no one had been injured.
