Battling 10-man Notts County remain in the League Two relegation zone despite rescuing a 2-2 draw at home to Northampton.
They overcame a nightmare start to the second half to secure the point after goalkeeper Ryan Schofield was red carded minutes before Sam Hoskins put the visitors 2-1 ahead.
But determined County drew level immediately through Kane Hemmings.
Mitchell Rose had put the home side ahead with a long-range beauty in the 26th minute after Hemmings had seen his first effort blocked.
The Cobblers drew level a minute before the break, Daniel Powell turning home Hoskins’ cross.
It got even worse for the Magpies when Schofield was sent off for bringing down Powell in the 47th minute.
Hoskins compounded the misery as he scored with a deflected free-kick three minutes later.
But the relegation battlers showed brilliant spirit to draw level courtesy of Hemmings, who slotted home after 52 minutes following Jon Stead’s pass.
Substitute keeper Ross Fitzsimons then saved well from Hoskins and Sam Foley in the closing stages as County clung on.
