Aaron Pierre and Jordan Turnbull could return to the Northampton team for their Sky Bet League Two clash with Port Vale.
Pierre missed Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Cheltenham as he was away on international duty with Grenada, while Turnbull was ruled out with an ankle injury but was expected to return to training on Thursday.
In a further injury boost for boss Keith Curle, Shaun McWilliams is back on the training pitch having not featured since February 23. He suffered a hamstring strain during a training session.
Forward Junior Morias remains sidelined following an appendix operation, while on-loan George Cox remains at parent club Brighton for his recovery from an ankle ligament injury.
Captain and top scorer Tom Pope could make a welcome return for Port Vale.
Pope has been carefully monitored since he sustained a knee injury in a goalless draw against Notts County on March 2 and has not featured since.
The Valiants currently sit two places and seven points above the relegation zone with two wins and two draws from their last five matches.
Boss John Askey said: “We’ve got a job to do and that’s to get safe and that’s our sole focus. Nothing else impacts us.”
