SKIPPER Russell Anderson today challenged the Dons to deliver one of Pittodrie’s greatest European nights by shocking Spanish giants Real Sociedad.
Anderson realises the Reds face a mammoth task having lost the first leg 2-0 in Spain.
However, the captain believes the Dons can dig deep to deliver an inspirational result to rank alongside historic Euro nights at Pittodrie such as the 1983 wins over Germany’s Bayern Munich and SV Hamburg.
Anderson said: “There’s always talk about the great European nights at Pittodrie over the years.
“If we can turn this game around, then this will go up there with the very best of them.
“It was great to make history in the League Cup last season, so let’s hope we can create a little more tomorrow evening.”
