MEXICAN striker Carlos Vela looks to be losing his fight to face the Dons at Pittodrie on Thursday.
Real Sociedad also have an injury concern over midfielder David Zurutuza, who scored the opener in their 2-0 Europa League qualifier victory over the Dons in Spain.
Star man Vela missed that match because of an ankle injury.
He also sat out Sociedad’s 3-1 friendly defeat by Deportivo Alaves.
Vela has still to return to full pre-season training with the rest of the first team squad and is not expected to be risked at Pittodrie.
Zurutuza, who fired Socieded ahead early in the second half, missed the friendly because of a thigh strain.
