Man indecently assaults girl, 12

A 12-year-old schoolgirl has been indecently assaulted by a man.

The victim was left “extremely distressed” by the incident, which happened in Aberdeen on Tuesday morning.

She was in the Park Place/Princes Street area when she was attacked at about 8.45am, Police Scotland said.

Officers are now working with nearby schools to make sure parents are aware of the incident and they have extra patrols in the area to reassure the local community.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information which could help their investigation to get in touch.

The suspect is described as man of Indian appearance with short black hair and brown eyes.

He was aged between 30 and 40 and was wearing navy blue jeans, a red hooded top and a black rain jacket.

The victim was not injured as a result of the assault.

The force said in a statement: “The young girl, although uninjured, was left extremely distressed by the incident and police ask that anyone with information come forward.”
