A LORRY caused traffic congestion after its tyre went on fire.
Fire and police crews were called to West Tullos Road, Aberdeen, at around 8.10pm last night.
A Police Scotland spokesman said the driver was not injured, adding: “The road was partially blocked. We did manage to get some vehicles through around 9pm but there was some traffic congestion.
“Local diversions were in place.”
A pump was sent from Altens to attend the scene after firefighters received a call at around 8.20pm.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were called out to a lorry which had burst its tyre but we did not have to do anything.”
The driver had managed to extinguish the “small fire” before their arrival.
