A STUDENT who failed to stop at a pedestrian crossing and crashed into two children in Aberdeen has been banned from driving for three months.
The two schoolgirls were at a pedestrian crossing on Kirk Brae in Cults when Andrew McKeown, 23, failed to stop and collided with them.
McKeown admitted a charge of careless driving by failing to stop at the pedestrian crossing and colliding with the girls.
The girls were both taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be treated for minor cuts and scratches.
McKeown’s defence agent told the court that the engineering student was “horrified” by what had happened.
He also said that he had become distracted by a vehicle to his right hand side.
McKeown, whose address was given in court papers as 5 Glenorchy Place, Airdrie, was fined 750 and banned from the road for three months.
