A REVIEW of a controversial deer culling scheme in Aberdeen will be completed later this year.
Deer have been culled on Aberdeen’s Tullos Hill to protect saplings planted as part of the Tree for Every Citizen project.
A petition was submitted to Aberdeen City Council calling on a halt to all deer culling in the city.
But councillors yesterday said a full review of the scheme, which will consider points raised in the petition, will be completed by October.
Campaigner Suzanne Kelly was at yesterday’s meeting of the petition committee to address councillors.
The former Torry community councillor also wanted the council to fully disclose the expenses the city has incurred in the last eight years during all phases of the scheme.
She said: “I will take a small comfort on the plan to show us all how much this cost neutral scheme will actually be costing us.”
More than 2,000 people previously signed a petition opposing the scheme.
