A NORTH-EAST man caught driving at 129mph through Angus has been banned for a year.
Calum Keith, 23, of Old Rayne admitted exceeding the 70mph limit on the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen dual carriageway at Waterston Road on February 22.
Fiscal depute Hazel Anderson said the offence had been caught by a speed camera at 5.19am as Keith drove his Audi A5.
Forfar Sheriff Court heard Keith was an electrical technician who worked offshore and disqualification would cause him difficulties.
Describing the speed as “as bad as it gets” Sheriff Gregor Murray banned Keith from driving for a year and fined him 750, reduced from the 1,000 maximum he could impose, because of the early plea.
