A ROAD was closed today due to a hay bale fire.
Police and around 10 firefighters were called to the fire on the Cruden Bay to Newburgh road at around 5am.
The road was closed as a result of the incident, but reopened shortly before 7am.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We closed the road as the wind was blowing some of straw on to the road.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said two crews from Peterhead were called to extinguish the fire.
