DONALD Trump’s golf resort has become home to Aberdeenshire’s first five-star hotel.
MacLeod House, at Trump International Golf Links near Balmedie, was given the rating by the country’s tourism agency.
VisitScotland gave the new luxury 19 bedroom hotel its top award after the historic Scottish baronial mansion and lodge was restored and upgraded.
Regional director Philip Smith said: “I would like to congratulate everyone at Trump International Golf Links on this marvellous achievement.
“Five-star status shows visitors, many of whom come from overseas, that they can expect a fantastic and enjoyable experience.”
Sarah Malone, executive vice-president of Trump International, said: “We’re delighted to be awarded five-star hotel status by VisitScotland.”
