AN ABERDEEN film-maker’s work is set to be included in part of the Cannes Film Festival.
Fresh back in his home city after two years perfecting his craft in Los Angeles, Nicci Thompson will soon be jetting off once more this time to one of the world’s biggest film festivals.
The 26-year-old, from Kincorth, had decided to take some time out from film-making after graduating from the New York Film Academy in September.
Just months later, however, Nicci found out his thesis film, entitled We Sit. We Drink. No Guns, had been picked up to premiere at the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival.
Nicci, who co-wrote and produced the film with his US colleague Matt Hielsberg, said he was taken aback at scooping the screening for the 13-minute film as it was produced in just three weeks.
Nicci said: “I was blown away. It is a huge opportunity.”
