Antiques Roadshow will make a special appearance on the EastEnders set over the festive period.
As part of the show’s 40th anniversary celebrations, presenter Fiona Bruce will drop in to The Old Vic pub in the entertainment special which offers a glimpse into the world of movie stars, musicians, theatrical giants and television favourites.
Among the items featured are Jack Nicholson’s axe from The Shining, a script for the first episode of Doctor Who and key props from the first Star Wars film.
Popular children’s TV character Muffin The Mule also makes an appearance in Albert Square as do EastEnders stars June Brown and Letitia Dean.
Props from Fawlty Towers, a collection of autographed items that tell of a day spent with artist Andy Warhol and Harry Potter memorabilia are also brought in by guests during the Roadshow special.
The special was filmed earlier this year when the soap was working on one of its biggest plots of the year – a gas explosion.
Bruce said: “Luckily, we managed to film on the EastEnders set before it was blown up.
“But we had plenty of drama of our own with rare memorabilia from some of Hollywood’s biggest movies, some stunning valuations and a drink at The Queen Vic with two of the Square’s most famous residents.”
The episode will air on the BBC over the festive period.
