A man who brought two North-east distilleries back to life has been given one of the Scotch whisky industry’s highest accolades.
Stewart Buchanan, 47, has been named a Keeper of the Quaich for his role in the resurrection of the BenRiach and Glenglassaugh facilities in Aberdeenshire.
He said: “To see my work earning rewards and being recognised alongside other Keepers of the Quaich who are stars in the industry is a real honour.”
Now working as a brand ambassador, Mr Buchanan travels the globe selling whisky to buyers and hosting tasting sessions.
He added: “Bringing BenRiach back to life again, and Glenglassaugh too, is a professional highlight.”
