On a cold Sunday afternoon, me and my boyfriend decided to treat ourselves to a nice romantic meal.
And having only heard good things about Italian restaurant Amarone on Union Street, we were curious whether our high expectations would be met.
Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a friendly member of staff and shown to our table in the middle of the beautifully designed restaurant with dramatic chandeliers.
I ordered tagliolini trastevere, delicious tagliatelle pasta with thyme roasted chicken, pancetta, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic and mushrooms served in a rich tomato sauce, which was cooked to perfection.
My boyfriend opted for a vegetarian dish, pennette con pomodorini, small pasta tubes served with cherry tomatoes in a tomato and basil sauce.
And while he really enjoyed his pasta sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, he said it was a bit undercooked for his liking.
