A man has been jailed after stealing £1,000 of jackets from a north-east shop.

Anthony Jackson, 38, pled guilty to stealing the clothing from Out There Active Wear, on Dee Street in Banchory, on September 24.

Defence agent Liam McAllister said associates had “tasked” his client with going in and taking the coats, adding: “Mr Jackson wishes to convey his apologies to the store.”

Fiscal depute Gavin Letford said the five jackets were valued at £1,000. Sheriff Margaret Hodge jailed Jackson, of Gainford Road, Liverpool, for two months.
