It might be summer but the sun didn’t get the memo that it is was supposed to be brightening up our day.
Heading north in the dark grey skies to the Peterhead Prison Museum the other half and I stopped by Kup-Cake tearoom on Broad Street for a quick bite to eat.
Walking in we were met by friendly staff who got us seated. Kup-Cake were proudly showing their consumer award on top of a glass cabinet filled with muffins and cakes which looked very tempting.
My partner decided to go for a homemade scone with butter (£1.90) and was delighted when it came to her still warm. I opted for the homemade chicken and sweetcorn sandwich which came with a side of crisps, salad and coleslaw (£4.30).
Our food arrived within ten minutes and my sandwich had the perfect chicken to mayonnaise ratio. We washed the food down with a diet coke and a cup of tea and could not have been happier with the tearoom.
