CUP on Belmont Street has always been a long-time favourite of both my partner and I.
And the recent launch of a new takeaway only store on Thistle Street seems to be a shrewd business move to cater for its ever increasing popularity.
The hot food menu is a little more limited than their main eatery, but the usual assortment of stunning traybakes and sandwiches are on offer.
I opted for a black pudding and bacon softie (£4.50). The Stornoway black pudding had just the slightest hint of spice and the chutney provided a beautiful sweet hit alongside the salty bacon.
Cheryl decided to go for the spicy chicken mayo panini (£4.25). While it tasted great and had a good warm spice to the sauce, she felt there was a little too much mayonnaise. And with it being an early lunch, the pick-me-up of a flat white (£2.60) was a must – the resulting coffee was likely one of the best I’ve had in Aberdeen.
