Wrestlezone undisputed champion Damien today vowed to end a landmark 2017 on a high by retaining his title in a grudge match against Crusher Craib.
The rivals go head to head tonight in Christmas Chaos at Danestone Community Centre.
Belt holder Damien, aka The Revolutionary, reclaimed the title six years after losing it with a memorable victory over Shawn Johnson last month.
Now that he finally has that prestigious title again the 32-year-old has no intention of losing it.
Damien said: “Winning the championship again is the culmination of a lot of hard work and graft.
“Christmas Chaos this year is huge for me.
“Having worked so hard to regain this title my journey is far from over. I’m ready for this challenge and will be doing my best to end 2017 with a career high.”
The catalyst for Damien’s ascent to the summit of Wrestlezone was his recent break from Sterling Oil, the team he had been associated with in recent years.
He said: “Starting to focus on myself again has been key, and I feel that really shows in my performances inside the wrestling ring.”
Opponent Crusher Craib recently returned to action following a horror injury in an Undisputed Championship title showdown with Scotty Swift at Aberdeen Anarchy last summer.
Craib, aka The Creator of Carnage, suffered a broken hip socket and underwent lengthy rehabilitation.
The 30-year-old, who has since linked up with Sterling Oil, has been impressive since his return.
Damien said: “Crusher Craib has looked unstoppable since returning to action. But this revolution of mine is not over and I believe where there is a will, there is a way.”
Craib is relishing the return to the spotlight and is determined to mark his comeback by claiming the coveted gold belt.
He said: “Damien better not get too comfortable as I am coming back to claim my belt.
“Nobody has come close to beating me since my return and just like I did with Scotty Swift, I intend on going through Damien at Christmas Chaos.
“There will be no happy ending for him, no shiny gold belt under the Christmas tree. The championship is coming back to me, it’s just a matter of how much of a fight Damien puts up for it!”
Tri-Counties champion Zach Dynamite will defend his title in a four-way clash against former champ Aspen Faith, Bryan Tucker and Lou King Sharp. The Rejected will attempt to reclaim the Tag Team championship from the Sterling Brothers.
Kasey Owens, who recently received a WWE try-out, will face Sammii Jayne who is also on the radar of the American wrestling promotion.
Bradley Evans, Shawn Johnson and Andy Wild face off in a triple threat match. Doors at the event open at 6.30pm with the first bout underway at 7pm. More information is available at www.wrestlezonescotland.co.uk
