Outnumbered Damien eyes Swift return to Wrestlezone summit after securing grudge match win

Damien gained revenge over bitter rival Shawn Johnson in a two-on-three handicap match against Sterling Oil in Newtonhill.

The Revolutionary Damien teamed up with Scotty Swift to go head to head with Undisputed Wrestlezone champion Johnson and Sterling Oil team-mates William and Alan Sterling.

There was bad blood bubbling for this top of the bill clash after Damien controversially lost the Undisputed belt to Johnson just weeks earlier at Summerhill Showdown.

While the referee was distracted in that title match, Sterling Oil manager Richard R Russell entered the ring and landed a low blow to Damien.

A former Sterling Oil member, who turned his back on the team last year, Damien was left poleaxed on the canvas after Russell’s unexpected block.

Johnson took full advantage to claim a pin victory.

That added an extra edge to the action at the Bettridge Centre in Newtonhill.

In a fiercely contested match where Damien’s animosity towards Johnson threatened to boil over, the victory was secured by a pin on William Sterling.

Damien has a rematch clause and will inevitably utilise that in a bid to reclaim the belt he controversially lost.

In the aftermath of the victory, Damien stood in the middle of the ring and pointed to his wrist and then his waist. The message was clear, he is determined to take back his Undisputed belt – and soon.

First though Damien has the opportunity to secure another belt when he faces holder Aspen Faith for the Tri-Counties championship at the Town Hall, Montrose, on Saturday.

Faith retained his title at Newtonhill with victory over Mikkey Vago of The Rejected.

Once close friends, but now bitter rivals, Zach Dynamite and Bradley Evans will go again in Montrose.

Evans won their grudge match in Newtonhill by count-out as Dynamite walked out of the ring and did not return.

The feud began when Dynamite blamed Evans for his loss of the Tri-Counties belt.

In the other matches, Crusher “Creator or Carnage” Craib defeated Mr P by pinfall.

Jason Reed beat Cysto 2 and Chris Archer pinned Nathan North to win.

The other matches for Saturday’s Wrestlezone event in Montrose are a non-title fight between Shawn Johnson, Mikkey Vago and Jason Reed.

The Rejected’s Chris Archer will go head to head with Andy Wild, while Mr P will face Nathan North.
