Places are still available for the coaching sessions and seminar to be conducted by Wilson Kipsang, Gideon Gathimba and Dave Moorcroft at Aberdeen Sports Village on Sunday.
Myles Edwards set up the Gathimba Edwards Foundation along with top 1500m runner Gathimba who he first met when the Kenyan athlete won the international mile race at the opening of Aberdeen Sports Village in 2009.
They became good friends and Edwards, the Scottish 1500m champion in 2015, has since made nine trips to Kenya.
Gideon had often spoken about his desire to help disadvantaged children in Kenya and the pair saw a real opportunity to turn this dream into reality by establishing the charity.
Edwards normally splits his time between training and carrying out work for the Foundation.
He said of the three visitors: “They will pass on their considerable expertise at the coaching sessions and will speak about the build-up and execution of their respective world records at the seminar, although questions of any aspect of running will be welcomed.”
All proceeds from these sessions will go to the Gathimba Edwards Foundation.
The full programme of events is as follows:
10-11am: Kids coaching session P4-S2 £3
Adults coaching session S3+ £7
1-2.30pm: Seminar, question and answer session. £10.
Please call Aberdeen Sports Village on 01224 438900 to reserve places.
