Aberdeen’s Neil Fachie has taken silver in the men’s tandem B 1km time trial at the UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Appeldoorn in the Netherlands.
Fachie and pilot Matt Rotherham finished behind Great Britain team-mate James Ball, of Wales, and his pilot, Pete Mitchell – with whom Fachie won kilo gold at the 2012 Paralympics.
35-year-old Fachie went in to the event as reigning champion and will tomorrow defend his title in the sprint discipline.
Fachie has won 12 world golds during his decorated track career.
