Aberdeen boxer Kristen Fraser has made history, becoming the first Scottish woman to win a Commonwealth title by beating South Africa-based Ellen Simwaka at the DoubleTree by Hilton Treetops Hotel.

Northern Sporting Club Fraser took the bantamweight belt when Malawi-born Simwaka quit on her stool at the end of the fifth round after being hurt by a body shot.

Fraser’s professional record now stands at 6(2)-0-0.
