Welcome to your 10 weeks to 10K training plan.
Whether you have ran the race before or are looking to set yourself a new challenge, Sport Aberdeen’s health and wellness team will be on hand every Saturday to offer you training advice to help keep you motivated and get you ready for the race on Sunday, May 20.
There will be two plans available every week, one for beginner runners to follow to get you ready for the race and one for people who have run before but are looking to set a new PB.

Week 7 – Build up stamina and knowledge of pre-race nutrition
After this week, there are only three more weeks to go until the BHGE 10K Running Festival so it’s time for that final push – the end goal is well in sight now.
The Sport Aberdeen health and wellness team won’t let you slip – the next seven days of training are all about big runs and building endurance.
They’ll also give you nutrition pointers on what constitutes a good pre-run meal. You should be managing a bit more distance and feeling a little better about the big day.
Beginners – working on endurance this week, Intermediates – you are hitting a full 10K! Try keep those legs working and remember – rest if you need, eat good food, drink lots of water, enjoy the run.
