Peterhead boss Jim McInally is delighted the club have signed star striker Rory McAllister on an extended deal.
The talismanic forward was under contract until 2019 but has penned an extension through to the summer of 2021.
McAllister, 30, joined the Blue Toon from Brechin City in the summer of 2011 and has become a club legend.
He has notched 31 goals this season and 176 for the club since joining.
Boss McInally, pictured, said: “It’s brilliant to have Rory signed up until 2021, he’s a club legend in his own right.
“And he’s still got a good few years of playing left in him.
“I think it shows you how content Rory is at Peterhead.
“He appreciates the club and is well liked here.
“It’s great that he signed up for so long.”
Tomorrow, Peterhead face Berwick Rangers at Shielfield Park.
It’s another vital game as the Buchan side battle with Montrose for the League Two title.
The Blue Toon are ahead on goal difference, but the Gable Endies have a game in hand, which is against Cowdenbeath on Tuesday.
There could be a potential slip-up tomorrow as they are away to third-placed Stirling Albion.
But McInally is only focusing on Peterhead’s game, and added: “For us it’s all about winning. All we can do is look after ourselves and see what happens with Montrose.
“It’s just about ticking another game off. We set ourselves a target, we thought we needed to win all the games and even that might not be enough. “But we still need to try to do it anyway, it’s all about winning and nothing else.”
Peterhead are not taking Berwick for granted. The Wee Gers are ninth in League Two and not totally safe from the relegation play-off.
McInally said: “Berwick have something to play for and they are a team that we have struggled against, particularly at Balmoor.
“It’s not a great pitch to play on and we know it’s going to be a battle.
“So we know what to expect, their game on Tuesday was postponed so they will be a bit fresher than they would have been.”
McAllister is still not fully fit due to an ankle problem, but is expected to play some part in the game.
