Peterhead manager Jim McInally believes there is still plenty more to come from Mason Robertson and Jack Leitch after both committed their futures to the club.
Centre-back Robertson and midfielder Leitch have both agreed one-year deals for next season with the Blue Toon.
Robertson, 23, joined the Buchan side last summer after leaving Stenhousemuir and made 30 appearances in the recently concluded season and scored seven goals.
Leitch, 22, arrived at Balmoor from Airdrieonians last summer. He made 31 appearances scoring four goals.
With both players still being young McInally believes they will continue to improve next season.
On Robertson he said: “After last season even though we didn’t get promoted they seemed to enjoy it.
“The way the club treats players means they enjoy it.
“Mason told me he had a couple of other offers so it’s pleasing he has decided to come back.
“I’m pleased to get Mason re-signed and I think there is a lot of improvement still to come from him.
“By his own admission he can still improve his fitness.
“He was left out for a spell last season after the 3-2 defeat to Montrose in March. But he came back at the end of the season and he was really good.
“If he just keeps kicking on the way he has been then it’s good for the club.”
On Leitch McInally added: “I’m really happy because he’s a good player and he’s a young boy who is still learning the game.
“In the last two or three months of the season I think he really got to grips with the dirty side of the game. He was able to graft, work hard and win his battles in games.
“If Jack can do that then his ability will take over because he is a talented boy.
“He’s another one where there is still a lot more still to come from him.
“He has really knuckled down and he got stronger as last season went on, there was a spell where he wasn’t doing the dirty side of the game very well. But when we told him what we needed he worked harder and I was delighted.
“He’s added work-rate to his game and if he keeps doing that we’re onto a winner.”
