FORMARTINE United have lost their appeal to have Jonathan Crawford’s dismissal against Cove Rangers overturned.
The former Aberdeen youngster was shown a straight red card in their 1-1 Scottish Cup third round draw with Cove at North Lodge Park last weekend.
The Pitmedden side felt the dismissal, due to a trip on Cove winger Connor Scully, was harsh and had an appeal heard at Hampden Park this afternoon.
However the SFA stood by the referee’s decision, which means the defender will miss Saturday’s replay at Inverurie’s Harlaw Park.
The winner is set to take on Motherwell at Fir Park in the fourth round early next year.
