Fraserburgh boss Mark Cowie was happy to see his side return to winning ways by beating Strathspey Thistle 3-1 after last Wednesday’s Aberdeenshire Shield exit to Banks o’ Dee.
Strikes from Scott Barbour, Aidan Combe and Ryan Christie’s penalty gave them a 3-1 win at Seafield Park.
Cowie said: “We started really well and dominated large chunks of the first half. We could have easily been four of five up before we did score the first goal.
“It looked for long spells like it was going to be one of those days where it didn’t quite happen. But there were some excellent bits to our play and some poor bits to our play.
“The main thing we asked for was to get the work ethic back.
“We make a few changes but the players that started were unbelievable.
“We can’t say we didn’t deserve the win and we controlled quite a bit of the game without putting them in danger too often.
“It was good to get three points after last Wednesday’s defeat to Banks o’ Dee.
“The league is all we’ve got left so we’re focusing on that now.
“You always look for a response to a defeat, but I’m looking for us to stop having that drop in performance.”
In the other Highland League game Clach beat Lossiemouth 5-1.
