Highland League: Turriff in boss hunt again after Roy’s exit

Turriff's home ground The Haughs.

Highland League Turriff United are on the hunt for their third manager in a month following the shock resignation of Graeme Roy.

Former Rothes manager Roy was appointed as Turriff boss following the dismissal of Ross Jack on January 8.

Roy was given the role until the end of the season with the offer of a two-year deal should his time at the helm during the rest of the campaign prove successful.

Assistant Ian Bruce has also left the Haughs club.

The duo’s departure came just 48 hours after Turriff United announced plans to introduce talent from the club’s youth system to the first team in the next two seasons.

A club statement read: “Turriff Utd have this evening accepted the resignation of manager Graeme Roy and his assistant Ian Bruce with immediate effect.”

Under-20 manager Steve Scott will be in charge of the team for tomorrow’s match against Wick Academy.

Turriff are languishing fifth bottom of the Highland League table.
