Winning the Evening Express Aberdeenshire Cup will help spur Cove Rangers on to more glory this season, according to Daniel Park.
The Highland League champions will be back in action tomorrow evening in the first round of the Aberdeenshire Shield after picking up the Shire Cup on Friday.
After seeing off Junior side Banks o’ Dee in the final Park says securing the first silverware of the season will help them push on to claim more honours this term.
But retaining the Highland League and reaching League Two in the play-offs are the main priority.
Park said: “There’s more silverware wanted here.
“We want to win every competition we enter and hopefully it’s the first of many this season.
“The main thing is to win the league and get back into the play-offs this season and go the extra distance that we didn’t manage last season and get into League Two.”
For Park Friday’s win completed a hat-trick of Shire Cup triumphs, with him having previously won the tournament with Cove in 2010 and Formartine in 2013.
It also meant he avoided three final defeats in a row with the Aberdeen side.
The winger added: “It’s a hat-trick of Shire Cup medals for me now.
“I should have had a couple more in the last few years, but it feels good.
“It was nice to break the run without winning it and getting a trophy this early in the season is good.”
