Formartine United player-manager Paul Lawson believes their League Cup run can help them finish the season strongly.
The Pitmedden men booked their place in Tuesday’s cup semi-finals against either Keith or Brora Rangers with an 8-0 win over Strathspey.
Tomorrow, United head north to face Nairn County and Lawson believes his players will be out to impress to force their way into his semi-final team.
And if his side could reach the League Cup final, Lawson believes that would help fourth-placed Formartine finish the league campaign well as they will be playing for cup final places.
He said: “That’s the mentality we want to breed at the club. “We have talked about building momentum going into next season. “So it’s important the league form is good and our aim is to progress in the cup if we can and hopefully the league games will take care of themselves.
“It is important and we will have to make changes on Saturday and again on Tuesday, and that’s what you have a squad for.”
