Highland League: Keith appoint Donaldson as new manager

Keith have appointed Dean Donaldson as their new manager.

Donaldson was popular with the Maroons fans as a player and had recently returned to Kynoch Park as first-team coach under previous manager Ewan Robb.

But after Robb was removed on January 2, Keith chairman Andy Troup has chosen Donaldson as the man to step up and become boss.

Donaldson, who also played for Inverurie Locos, Cove Rangers and Huntly, won the treble of the Highland League, Highland League Cup and Aberdeenshire Shield with Keith in 2007.

He has recruited former Maroons players Michael Brown and Jamie Lennox as his assistant managers.

The new management team’s first game in charge will be away to Wick Academy on Saturday.

Chairman Troup identified Donaldson as his preferred candidate for the job shortly after Robb was sacked and discussions progressed quickly and the deal has been done.
