Formartine United player-manager Paul Lawson is thrilled goalie Kevin Main has agreed to stay with the club.
The keeper has penned a contract extension with the Pitmedden side which will keep at North Lodge Park until the summer of 2021.
Lawson said: “I’m delighted Kevin has signed a new deal because he has been superb from the moment he walked through the door.
“I’m just delighted to get him tied up again.
“He’s been a good player for us and he’s liking what we’re doing and hopefully we can progress a bit next season.
“He is a calming presence at the back and has lots of experience, which can be vital.
“He also has good competition in Ewen MacDonald and he’s also great for Ewen to learn off of.
“Kevin is also a great lad in the dressing room, but most importantly he is a top goalie and over the course of a season your keeper can win you a lot of points.”
Fourth-placed Formartine beat Clachnacuddin 4-0 on Wednesday and finish their season with tomorrow’s trip to Station Park to play Nairn County.
Lawson added: “I think it’s important we finish the season strongly.
“You don’t want to go into the summer with a defeat and a poor performance. I was pleased with the display on Wednesday, there were a few excellent performers.
“We scored goals and kept a clean sheet, so hopefully tomorrow we can get more of the same.
“But we always get a difficult game against Nairn and they will be wanting to finish on a high as well.”
