Buckie Thistle manager Graeme Stewart is hopeful of having a couple of their long-term absentees back for pre-season, including captain Kevin Fraser.
This campaign just concluded was a difficult one for the Jags. They were defending Highland League champions but were decimated by long-term injuries to some of their top players.
Skipper and influential midfielder Fraser, attackers John McLeod, Sam Urquhart, Craig Cowie and defenders Hamish Munro and Shaun Wood all missed large chunks or all of the season.
Stewart is hoping to have Fraser and Wood back for pre-season.
The Victoria Park gaffer said: “Things are still not as good as I’d like and we’ve still got boys who are out long term.
“We’re hoping to have two of them back for pre-season. “But John McLeod, Hamish Munro, Sam Urquhart and Craig Cowie won’t be back for pre-season. “We’re hoping captain Kevin Fraser and Shaun Wood will. we’re keeping our fingers crossed just now.”
With players still expected to be missing at the start of the new term, Stewart is also hoping to bolster his squad with some new signings.
