Fraserburgh manager Mark Cowie said that reaching the Scottish Cup fourth round ranks alongside anything he has achieved in football.
Cowie’s Broch team came from behind to beat Lowland League Spartans 2-1 at Ainslie Park.
Jamie Dishington had the hosts ahead but Paul Campbell equalised from the penalty spot early in the second period before Bryan Hay won the tie late on for the Buchan outfit who were missing strikers Gary Harris and Graham Johnston.
Boss Cowie said: “I’m over the moon for the guys. We had a game plan and we knew what we were up against.
“Credit to Spartans they are a very good football side and some of their football was good.
“We went down there to be difficult to beat and I think we were.
“We gave away a sloppy goal and found ourselves 1-0 down at half-time.
“But we made a change and went a bit more attacking. And if you’re going to score a winner why not in the last minute.
“Fraserburgh are renowned as a cup team.
“And all my best moments in football have been involved in the Scottish Cup and this goes up there with it.
“The guys deserve a crack at one of the big teams.”
