Cove Rangers midfielder Blair Yule has gone on trial with English League Two side Doncaster Rovers.
The 23-year-old, one of Cove’s star performers when they won the Highland League title last season, came off the bench for in Doncaster’s 2-2 friendly draw with Newcastle United at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Yule is expected to get another run-out with Rovers in another friendly on Tuesday before manager Darren Ferguson decides whether to offer the young Aberdonian.
Ferguson said: “I’ve got a good relationship with Cove because I took Paul Coutts from there when I was at Peterborough.
“I thought he (Yule) did well. He showed good composure, good energy.
“He’s definitely got something, the boy.”
