Cove Rangers are believed to be interested in signing Buckie Thistle attacker Chris Angus.
The 27-year-old was placed on the Jags’ transfer list on Monday and it is believed the Aberdeen side would be interested in signing him.
Victoria Park boss Graeme Stewart said that finding a club closer to his home is part of the reason for Granite City-based Angus and Buckie seeking to part company.
Angus lifted the Highland League title and the Evening Express Aberdeenshire Cup with Buckie last season.
He also won the league in 2011 and the Highland League Cup with the club in 2012.
It is understood that Cove would be keen to bring him in to bolster their attack which is already the most feared in Highland League football having hit 70 goals in 16 league matches so far this term.
It is also believed that Cove have attempted to sign Angus from Buckie in the past, but on those occasions the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement.
However, on this occasion things may be different.
