Boss Mark Cowie has urged his Fraserburgh players to build on Wednesday’s fine win at Brora Rangers.

The Broch ended a barren run of five successive defeats with a 3-1 win over the Cattachs at Dudgeon Park in midweek.

Tomorrow the Bellslea team travel to Mackessack Park to face Rothes.

Cowie’s men are in a battle with Forres Mechanics to finish fourth and secure the final Irn-Bru Cup spot for next season.

If Fraserburgh win their last two matches they will pip the Can-Cans and Cowie has challenged his players to continue against the Speysiders where they left off against Brora.

He said: “It’s massive for us that we build on Wednesday because Forres beat Cove on Wednesday.

“It’s still in our hands to finish fourth, but we have to win both of our games.

“We can hope Lossie do something against Forres and help us, but if we win both our games we’ll finish fourth.

“I’m glad we’ve turned our form around at this time.

“It means we can go into Rothes on Saturday with a win under our belts.

“That will be another tough game but the league is full of tough games and we just have to take them one at a time.

“The players proved to me what they can do.

“So there are no excuses now for the last two games.

“If they can do it against Brora, then we can do it every game.”
