Fraserburgh boss Mark Cowie hopes to see youngster Nathan Stuart kick on after signing a contract extension.
The 19-year-old has penned a new deal with the Broch to keep him at Bellslea until the summer of 2021.
The full-back has made 20 appearances in the black and white and Cowie hopes he can flourish next season.
He said: “Nathan has been on the cusp of the team for the last couple of years.
“He has been with the first team all this season and with Marc Dickson retiring we’ve got him and Lewis Davidson eyeing up the right-back position.
“He’s got great energy and his delivery into the box from wide areas is excellent.
“He’s still got a lot of the game to learn, but we’re hoping he kicks on. But Nathan is a good lad and keen to learn which is important.
“Hopefully he can progress next season and show what we know he is capable of.”
Stuart isn’t the only promising young prospect Fraserburgh have and Cowie hopes more can come to the fore next term.
He added: “We’ve got the young guys signed up and they will be involved with the squad. Nathan and Ryan Sargent are in the first team group now.
“They are the two who have come forward from the youth set-up and we’re looking for them to kick on next season.
“But after that we have two or three more who can come on and push into the first team squad and challenge for starting places.”
