Scott Barbour missed out on Fraserburgh’s Scottish Cup tie with Rangers last season.
So the striker would love to reach the fourth round again this term and secure another glamour tie.
The Broch will bid to do that on Saturday when they take on Junior side Auchinleck Talbot at Bellslea in round three.
The Scottish Junior Cup holders will prove formidable opponents after beating Cove Rangers in the second round.
But Barbour, who returned to Fraserburgh in the summer from Formartine United, is hoping the Broch progress and land another big name.
He said: “I was a bit gutted when I was at Formartine last season and the Broch got Rangers while we got Cove Rangers.
“I was at the game that night as a fan because even when I wasn’t at the club I still supported them – except when I was playing against them. It was some atmosphere at the game that night and the whole town was just nuts in the build-up to it.
“It would be brilliant if we could have something like that again – first we need to take care of business on Saturday and see what happens.”
Barbour admits he doesn’t know much about Talbot, but is looking forward to facing the Ayrshire team.
He added: “It will be interesting to face them and it will be a step into the unknown because I don’t know too much about them.
“They put Cove out of the cup in the last round and if they are doing that they will be tough to play against.
“We’re well aware of that, but if we get our fans behind us hopefully we can make it hostile for them.
“They’ll take up a good bunch of fans as well and it should be a good atmosphere.”
